Fireplace Installations
The waiting period for installation will be indicated at the time of order and a fitting date will be agreed with you within 7 days of your order. This date is agreed on a best efforts basis and we will do everything we can to ensure your installation is carried out on the agreed date. Occasionally, due to unexpected circumstances or circumstances beyond our control delays may occur. In this event we will aim to have the installation carried out as soon as possible after the agreed date. We are not responsible for any consequential loss or expenses due to any delays and will not entertain any claims for compensation.
Our fitters must have unrestricted access to the fitting area and adequate parking facilities for a van within ten yards of the premises. If the installation is above the ground floor (i.e. an apartment building) this must be notified to us on the day of sale. Any unusual factors on the installation site (i.e. Back boiler, oversized openings, poor brickwork or anything else that could reasonably be expected to affect the installation) must be notified to us at the time of the sale. Any gas appliances must be disconnected and removed before the arrival of our fitters. Failure to comply with any of these conditions may result in an additional charge or the cancellation of the installation. In the event that the fitter decides not to complete the installation for one of the above reasons there will be an additional charge of 100.
responsible adult (the customer or a representative of the customer) must be present at the time the fitters arrive at the premises and during the period of the installation (typically 1.5 4 hours). The installation must be approved and the docket signed by the adult in attendance. Any issues arising from the installation must be noted on the fitting docket at the time. Any non-warranty problems notified to us after this time may result in an additional charge at the sole discretion of Fireplaces Direct.
All installations must be paid for on the day of the installation using one of the following methods. Cash, Cashiers Cheque, Bank Draft or Credit Card. Attempts to pay by personal cheque may result in the cancellation of your installation and incur an additional charge of 100. Any delay in payment for whatever reason must be agreed with the office before the fitters leave the premises. Any refusal to pay without valid reason will result in the removal of the fireplace without further discussion.
Any deposit paid is non-refundable in the event of a cancellation by the customer.

Warranty
There is a twelve month warranty on all of our products relating solely to defects in manufacture or installation with the following exclusions.
Grates: Due to the nature of modern solid fuels, the lifespan of grates has been considerably reduced and it is not unusual to have to replace them twice or more during the course of a year.
Cast Iron Fronts: (i.e. Ash pan Cover and Coal Catcher) Cast iron fronts will occasionally discolour or peel. This is due to moisture in the cast iron and normally only occurs when too large a fire is lit soon after installation although it can occur later if the fireplace is not frequently used. To remedy this you need to sand the discoloured or peeling area and apply a heat resistant spray (such as Hotspot found in motor factors).
Hearths: Any damage to hearths other than heat damage is not covered under warranty.
Chimney Draw: It is the customers responsibility to ensure that their chimney/flue has a suitable draw to remove all smoke and fumes from the fireplace. We accept no responsibility for installations that have an insufficient draw. If you are unsure you may request a smoke test at a cost of 50.
If any part of these terms & conditions is found to be unlawful, it shall not affect the validity of the remainder.
NONE OF THE ABOVE TERMS AND CONDITIONS AFFECTS YOUR STATUTORY RIGHTS
